How practice you open the remote to insert the batteries? There seems to be no opening.

i agree on somebody's commends below. I bought this today 01/04/2021 and i tin not open the battery slot of the remote to insert batteries. i think i have to break information technology or apply some screwdriver like someboday said below. Not sure who designed this. simply crap If remote itself is like this, non sure how the actual device works.

If you have a remote with the crack in the middle, it is very unproblematic to open. Press down on the spot with the etched line and also pull downward on the lesser half and it will slide open and you lot tin remove the triple A batteries. BUT, if I did Not know about these instructions, I would have never opened it.

Insert a 3" flex putty knife into the seam all around the remote and twist gently until y'all can pry it open. Worse pattern EVER. I had to ruin mine to open. Used a small screw commuter a vice and a hammer. I'm not kidding. Terrible design. PS this was/is the latest gen remote. Amazon should recall every one and transport a replacement that has a battery compartment you can really utilize to supplant batteries

I take arthritis in my easily and then opening this remote is hopeless for me. I'thousand going to have to return it to the store. Another problem as I live out in the state! What a ridiculous design! At present I have no TV until I can go into the store and be humiliated past some teenager opening it in under 20 seconds! Thank yous Amazon for stealing away more of my 76 years of life on the most ridiculous design ever!

The only style I tin can open the remote'south battery compartment is to hold the remote with both hands and twist slightly, every bit if you were wringing liquid from a material—twist gently. I heard some clicks. So it slid open up just as you assumed it should.
My only guess is that it was 'glued shut' from some kind of gunk. It does co-exist with snacks and drinks!

It's 2020 and information technology is even so difficult to open up the remote. I wedged a letter opener into the tiny crevice and was finally able to slide the back downwardly to remove it. I may return it.

It is 2019, and obviously they however have not made a better remote. I literally had to lookout man a you tube video to get this damn affair open. How ridiculous ! ...

It is incommunicable to take off the back of the remote to install the batteries on the fire stick 4k. This video is the just one that worked for me-using scotch record to slide information technology off.

I finally got it open with the tip of a steak pocketknife...pried it until it popped gratuitous. This after trying all of the tips here to no avail. It must be a racket to force you to buy a new remote or new firestick, no other explanation for this. Besides taped a neon green postal service-it note to information technology as I can never find the affair, it is small and constantly slides onto floor or downward sideof chair...
